Director of Supply Chain/Planning & Scheduling

Beltservice Corporation has an immediate opening for a Director of Supply Chain/Planning & Scheduling who will be responsible for the organization’s overall supply chain strategy and operations including purchasing of materials, supplier management, logistics, inventory management, production planning and scheduling to ensure efficient operations and timely delivery of products to customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for inventory management, production planning and scheduling to meet business objectives and customer demands.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to forecast demand, plan production schedules, and optimize inventory levels to minimize stockouts and excess inventory.
  • Lead and mentor a team of supply chain planners and schedulers, providing guidance and support to ensure departmental goals are achieved.  Lead and support the improvement in the company culture and core values.
  • Analyze supply chain data and performance metrics to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with suppliers, vendors, and logistics partners to ensure reliable and cost-effective supply chain operations.  Work with the business unit teams to identify new suppliers that will support the growth of the business.
  • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline supply chain processes and enhance overall efficiency.
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and regulatory changes to proactively identify potential risks and opportunities in the supply chain.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain agility, responsiveness, and resilience.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and execute long-term supply chain strategies aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  • Prepare and present regular reports and updates on supply chain performance, key metrics, and strategic initiatives to senior management.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in supply chain management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of success in developing and implementing supply chain strategies to optimize inventory management, production planning, and distribution scheduling utilizing lean and continuous improvement methods.
  • Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve departmental goals.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Excel, specifically writing Macros and creating Pivot Tables, required.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software, ERP systems, and data analysis tools. Experience working in Microsoft D365 F&O a plus.  
  • Experience working with vendors on prices/terms required; RFQ/RFP, contracts, and negotiating experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and make data-driven decisions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and import/export requirements.
  • Certification in supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CSCMP) is a plus.
